Novamera has been named the sole recipient of the 2022 Canadian Innovative Initiative of the Year for the development of Surgical Mining by the Tunnelling Association of Canada (TAC).

Using advanced sensors and software, Novamera develops technologies to enable surgical mining, allowing companies to economically access steeply dipping narrow vein deposits, while also supporting ESG targets.

The annual award recognizes an initiative that has demonstrated the highest level of engineering service and skill in any of the following areas: research in engineering product design, product development, technological ideas, patent designs, mechanical engineering concepts, or geotechnical design.

Accepting the award on behalf of Novamera in Vancouver, Canada was Andrew Caruana, VP Product Engineering, Allan Cramm, VP of Innovation and Dustin Angelo, CEO.

“Innovation is needed to transform the mining industry and meet growing global metal demand,” said Dustin Angelo, CEO of Novamera. “We’re thrilled to be recognized for our success in the field by the Canadian Tunnelling Association.”
